1. Introduction and Acceptance

Anchor Wallet is an open-source desktop application created by Greymass to provide secure access and signing capabilities for Antelope (EOSIO) blockchains, including EOS, WAX, Telos, Proton, and FIO. By installing or using Anchor Wallet, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must immediately stop using the software and remove it from your device. Continued use signifies ongoing acceptance of the most recent version of these Terms.

2. Non-Custodial Responsibility and Key Management

Anchor Wallet is designed to be non-custodial, meaning you — and only you — control your private keys, wallet data, and blockchain assets. Greymass does not have access to your private keys, passwords, backups, or funds under any circumstance.

By using Anchor, you accept full responsibility for securely storing and backing up your keys and wallet data. You understand that:

• If you lose access to your private keys, your blockchain assets cannot be recovered.
• Transactions signed within Anchor are executed directly on the blockchain and are irreversible.
• The security of your assets depends entirely on the precautions you take (such as using encrypted storage, password protection, and avoiding phishing or malicious software).

3. Software License and Open-Source Use

Anchor Wallet is distributed as free, open-source software under an approved open-source license. This license allows you to review, modify, or redistribute the code, provided that you comply with the license’s conditions and maintain proper attribution to the original authors.

While open-source transparency helps ensure user trust and auditability, it also means that any third-party modifications or unofficial versions of Anchor Wallet are used entirely at your own risk. Greymass provides no warranty or validation for modified or redistributed versions of the software.

4. No Warranties, No Liability

Anchor Wallet is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Greymass makes no warranties or representations of any kind regarding its performance, compatibility, or reliability. All risks associated with using Anchor Wallet, including potential loss of digital assets, corrupted data, or software malfunctions, rest solely with the user.

In no event shall Greymass, its developers, contributors, or partners be liable for any loss of assets, profits, or data arising from your use or inability to use Anchor Wallet — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

It is your responsibility to verify releases and downloads only from trusted official sources, such as anchorwallet.org or the official GitHub repository.

5. Privacy, Data, and Security Practices

Anchor Wallet does not collect, transmit, or store personal data by default. Your blockchain account names, transactions, and actions remain local to your device unless you explicitly choose to share them through third-party integrations or services.

Greymass may, in the future, introduce optional, opt-in telemetry or analytics features to help improve performance or user experience. If so, these will be clearly disclosed and governed by a separate Privacy Policy, requiring explicit user consent.

Because Anchor Wallet interacts with public blockchain networks, some activity (such as transactions) may be visible on-chain and beyond the control of Greymass. It is your responsibility to manage your privacy and security when interacting with such decentralized systems.

6. Updates, Modifications, and Termination

Greymass reserves the right to update these Terms of Use and the Anchor Wallet software at any time. Updates may include improvements, security patches, or changes in supported blockchains or APIs. The latest version of these Terms will always be available on the official website, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any revisions.

You may stop using Anchor Wallet at any time by uninstalling it from your device. Greymass may also suspend or discontinue distribution of the software or related services at its discretion, without prior notice.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Greymass operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. If any part of these Terms is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions remain fully enforceable.
