Privacy Policy

Privacy isn’t just a checkbox — it’s one of our core design principles. Anchor Wallet by Greymass is built to protect your data, your identity, and your digital sovereignty.

1. Introduction

Anchor Wallet (“Anchor,” “we,” or “us”) is a non-custodial, open-source wallet developed by Greymass to provide secure and private access to Antelope-based blockchains (including EOS, WAX, Telos, Proton, and FIO). We do not monetize user data or collect personal identifiers. Your privacy is an inherent part of how Anchor works — not a separate feature.

2. What Information We Don’t Collect

Anchor is intentionally designed to avoid data collection. We don’t collect or store:

  • Personal identifiers (name, email, phone, address)
  • Wallet activity or transaction history
  • Device information or IP addresses
  • Usage analytics or crash telemetry

There are no hidden trackers, cookies, or telemetry services running in the background. Everything happens locally, under your control, and visible in the open-source codebase.

3. Local Data Storage

All sensitive data — including your private keys, wallet configuration, and blockchain permissions — are stored locally on your device using the encryption mechanisms provided by your operating system. Anchor uses secure, system-level key storage (Keychain on macOS, Credential Vault on Windows, or Keyring on Linux).

None of your private keys or passwords ever leave your computer. Anchor never sends, syncs, or transmits them to external servers.

4. Transparency Through Open Source

We believe privacy requires trust — and trust requires visibility. Anchor is 100% open source, allowing anyone to inspect the code, verify its behavior, and confirm that it performs exactly as we describe here. Every release is built reproducibly, so users can verify binaries against published source code.

5. Blockchain Network Interactions

Anchor interacts with Antelope-based blockchains through API endpoints (RPC nodes) to broadcast transactions and fetch on-chain data. These requests do not include any personally identifying information and are not logged by Anchor. You can freely choose or change the endpoints Anchor connects to.

While blockchain transactions are public by nature, Anchor does not index, analyze, or associate them with you.

6. dApp Connections

Anchor supports the Antelope Signing Request (ASR) protocol, which enables secure communication between your wallet and decentralized applications (“dApps”). These connections occur locally and require explicit approval each time. Anchor never initiates background connections or shares data without your action.

7. Cookies and Website Usage

The anchorwallet.org website uses minimal, session-based cookies to remember preferences such as theme and language. We do not use Google Analytics, ad pixels, or any third-party trackers. Your browsing data remains entirely private and is never shared or monetized.

8. Security and Verification

We take a layered approach to security. Anchor releases are digitally signed with verifiable PGP keys published by Greymass, ensuring users can independently confirm authenticity. We encourage verifying signatures before installation — this helps maintain the trustless integrity we aim to provide.

9. Your Rights

As Anchor does not collect or store personal data, traditional “data access” or “deletion” requests under privacy laws (like GDPR or CCPA) are generally not applicable. However, we fully support your right to privacy, transparency, and control over your information. You are free to delete all local data at any time by removing the application from your device.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect improvements in our practices or compliance requirements. The latest version will always be available on this page, with a clear “Last Updated” date.
